Short Bio

I am an interdisciplinary researcher and am boldly using metaphors from biology and physics in my works such as fitness landscapes, evolutionary algorithms, swarm intelligence, gravity theory, etc. My research interests take place in three domains; ''Operations management'' (supply chain management, complexity in operations, etc.), ''Operations research'' (decision processes, queuing systems, simulation, etc.) and ''Information systems'' (knowledge management, artificial agents, theoretical foundations of information, etc.)

Statement of Research

I am trying to understand business environments in a socio-technical way to be able to create value for society. I am working on some topics with a theoretical way to create conceptual frameworks and a practical way to simulate these frameworks. My research interests lie at the intersection of information systems, operations management, and operations research.

Statement of Teaching

As a university teacher, I am trying to motivate, challenge and inspire my students. I think every student can understand the passion that I feel about my lessons. An interesting beginning which attracts my students into a new learning experience is important to me. This beginning usually starts with a true story about the lecture and it includes a brief history of the subject. The story is an initial platform in the background where historical facts are embodied knowledge. I get help from the students to develop this platform. Their participation in this story, asking questions, seeing problems, and making various (even if wrong, inaccurate, or false) comments makes it an interesting beginning to the lesson. “Asking questions” and “Responding”; I think these two are important issues.
